There are a whole host of family-friendly events taking place across the island to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, and we have pulled together all the details into one handy list. Note that events are booking up quickly, so don’t delay if you’re interested in an event that needs booking.

Thursday 2nd June

Thursday 2nd June
>>> 10am. Trooping the Colour, BBC One: Starting off the special extended bank holiday jubilee weekend, Huw Edwards, Kirsty Young and JJ Chalmers present live coverage of the platinum jubilee Trooping the Colour. This year, the 1st Battalion Irish Guards will troop their colour on Horse Guards Parade to celebrate the official birthday of HM the Queen. The morning’s events culminate with the annual appearance of the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace for a special jubilee flypast to celebrate the Queen’s 70 years on the throne.
>>> 8pm. Platinum Beacons: Lighting up the Jubilee, BBC One: The first day of the Platinum Jubilee will be marked by the traditional lighting of beacons across the nation and the Commonwealth. Communities will be coming together to light more than 1,500 beacons to celebrate The Queen’s 70-year reign, and a principal beacon will be lit at Buckingham Palace.
Friday 3rd June
>>> 9:15am. A Service of Thanksgiving, BBC One: In the presence of senior members of the royal family, David Dimbleby, Kirsty Young and Sophie Raworth will broadcast the Service of Thanksgiving live from St Paul’s Cathedral in London.
>>> 7:30pm. The Crown Jewels, BBC ONE: To mark The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, Clive Myrie has been given unique access to the Crown Jewels. With 13 Crowns and nearly 24,000 precious gemstones, the collection is the nation’s treasure. In this revelatory documentary Clive travels across Britain to explore the dramatic stories behind these precious jewels from before the coronation of William the Conqueror in 1066 to today.

>>> 7:30pm to 10:30pm. Platinum Party at the Palace, BBC One: The third day of the jubilee celebrations continues with a spectacular evening of entertainment featuring an array of global stars and performers performing in front of Her Majesty The Queen at Buckingham Palace.
Sunday 5th June
>>> 1pm to 4pm. The Platinum Pageant, BBC One: Live from St James’s Park in London, Kirsty Young, AJ Odudu, Anita Rani, Anton Du Beke, Sophie Morgan and Owain Wyn Evans introduce the Platinum Pageant. It’s a spectacular parade that brings together dancers, military displays, musicians, key workers and communities to mark HM the Queen’s 70-year reign. The presenters also bring you the best of the street parties from the UK.
