Dip ‘n’ dine is a popular Guernsey tradition, and something I had not heard of until moving to Guernsey, we are certainly now dip ‘n’ dine converts! For those who are new to the concept, it’s when a restaurant/hotel allows you to use their pool in return for you ordering food. We highly recommend it with kids, on a summers day it can make you feel like you’re on a foreign holiday!
We have pulled together details of all the places currently offering dip ‘n’ dine, and if more are introduced, they will be added to the list. Enjoy!
Fleur Du Jardin Hotel
Lovely large solar heated pool in the grounds of the hotel with a number of loungers around the pool and tables slightly away from the pool. We haven’t tried dip ‘n’ dine at the Fleur yet, so can’t comment on the temperature of the water.

La Villette Hotel & Leisure Suite
La Villette is a new entry into the dip n dine guide this year. Dip ‘n’ dine only available in the outside pool, which is heated. We haven’t been so cannot confirm the temperature of the pool.

Les Douvres Hotel
Les Douvres offers a heated kidney shaped pool within their garden area. There are a number of loungers to one side of the pool (we’ve never found the cushions so your bum can get a little numb!) and tables on the grassed area. There are only a few tables for dip ‘n’ dine, so the pool never feels overwhelmed with people, making it one of our favourites.

Le Pommier
Le Pommier offers a large heated pool with surrounding tables and BB’s bar offering hot and cold food and drinks.

Saints Bay Hotel
Saints Bay Hotel is a great place for dip ‘n’ dine thanks to the large heated pool and outside dining area. The pool is heated to 29 degrees which makes it lovely and warm, even I could get in! They offer a bar menu that must be ordered from to use the pool.

The Farmhouse Hotel
The Farmhouse is a great place for dip ‘n’ dine thanks to the palms, beautiful flowers and loungers dotted around the grounds, it feels like a holiday resort. They have a nice heated pool with an adjoining small shallow children’s pool. As the grounds are large they can accommodate a lot of people and therefore, the pool can get very busy. There are tables around the edge of the pool, and if you sit there, you’ll be lucky not to be splashed! There are also gazebos which book up quickly and tables in the garden a little set back from the pool (safe splashing distance!).

The Peninsula
Dip n dine is available for non-residents. We are big fans of the large heated pool at The Peninsula and it’s a great choice for those with younger children thanks to the shallow pool.
