Dip ‘n’ dine is a popular Guernsey tradition, and something I had not heard of until moving to Guernsey, we are certainly now dip ‘n’ dine converts! For those who are new to the concept, it’s when a restaurant/hotel allows you to use their pool in return for you ordering food. We highly recommend it with kids, on a summers day it can make you feel like you’re on a foreign holiday!
We have pulled together details of all the places currently offering dip ‘n’ dine, and if more are introduced, they will be added to the list. Enjoy!
Kings Health Club
Kings is once again offering dip ‘n’ dine this summer with a revised offering, open to members and non-members. Food can be enjoyed in the 1857 Sports Lounge & Bar or on the terrace next to the heated pool. Includes use of the wet changing area, but not access to other areas within the health club. - Cost: Reservations are free of charge for Kings adult members and £10pp for adult non-members. Child members can also attend free of charge and non-member children aged 4-15yrs can attend for £5 per child. All children under 4yrs can attend free of charge.
- In addition to the above, all Dip & Dine adult guests are subject to a minimum spend of £15pp and child guests £10pp. In the event of a “no show” these charges will continue to be incurred.

Le Pommier
Le Pommier is the perfect spot for a dip n dine thanks to the large heated pool and the newly established BB’s bar offering hot and cold food and drinks.

- Times: Pool is open 8am to 8pm, food available from 12pm.
- Days and cost: You Day Tuesdays – every Tuesday in the holidays from 12pm to 2pm, £15 per adult, includes entry to the pool for 2 children under 12, price includes sandwich and crisps. At other times the pool is open to non-residents at a cost of £10 for adults, £5 for those 2-16yrs and under 2s FREE. Dip n Dine minimum spend £25.

Fleur Du Jardin Hotel
Lovely large solar heated pool in the grounds of the hotel with a number of loungers around the pool and tables slightly away from the pool. We haven’t tried dip ‘n’ dine at the Fleur yet, so can’t comment on the temperature of the water.

La Collinette Hotel
Offering a large heated rectangular pool plus a kiddies pool, surrounded by loungers. With tables in the garden terrace, La Collinette offers a relaxing place for a summer dip ‘n’ dine.

Les Douvres Hotel
Les Douvres offers a heated kidney shaped pool within their garden area. There are a number of loungers to one side of the pool (we’ve never found the cushions so your bum can get a little numb!) and tables on the grassed area. There are only a few tables for dip ‘n’ dine, so the pool never feels overwhelmed with people, making it one of our favourites.

La Trelade Hotel
A great indoor dip ‘n’ dine option if you want to escape the heat on a hot day or still have a swim on a rainy day. La Trelade Hotel offers a large heated pool surrounded by loungers. Food must be eaten in the restaurant but drinks can be enjoyed by the pool.

The Farmhouse Hotel
The Farmhouse is a great place for dip ‘n’ dine thanks to the palms, beautiful flowers and loungers dotted around the grounds, it feels like a holiday resort. They have a nice heated pool with an adjoining small shallow children’s pool. As the grounds are large they can accommodate a lot of people and therefore, the pool can get very busy. There are tables around the edge of the pool, and if you sit there, you’ll be lucky not to be splashed! There are also gazebos which book up quickly and tables in the garden a little set back from the pool (safe splashing distance!).

Saints Bay Hotel
Saints Bay Hotel is a great place for dip ‘n’ dine thanks to the large heated pool and outside dining area. The pool is heated to 29 degrees which makes it lovely and warm, even I could get in! They offer a bar menu that must be ordered from to use the pool.

The Peninsula
The Peninsula is a new addition to the list. Previously, the pool was only available for hotel guests, but they are now offering dip n dine for non-residents. We are big fans of the large heated pool at The Peninsula and it’s a great choice for those with younger children thanks to the shallow pool.
