For more experienced surfers, Portinfer is the beach for you. This pretty secluded cove is just a stone’s throw from Port Soif beach and offers soft white sand, clear sea and great rockpools to explore.
Location
Portinfer is located a stone’s throw from Port Soif, on the Portinfer Coast Road. There is no parking specifically for Portinfer Beach, it shares parking with Port Soif beach, therefore, there is a 5 minute walk to get to Portinfer on the footpath.
Follow the footpath from the Kiosk at Port Soif and within a minute you will see Portinfer Beach ahead of you.
The Beach
Portinfer is popular with more experienced surfers because it can pick up more swell than at Vazon, however, in the summer it can get busy.
Portinfer offers soft white sand and clusters of rocks which make for great rockpooling. Due to the large rocks, it’s not a beach for surfing at low tide as it can be very dangerous.
Facilities
The closest facilites are at Port Soif with toilets and a lovely beach kiosk (Surfside at Port Soif) serving hot and cold food, drinks and ice creams.
Portinfer is not a place we would choose for a day on the beach, however, for those into surfing, this could be the place for you. As long as you are prepared for the walk from Port Soif and the lack of immediate facilities.
