A popular family beach near to the Cup and Saucer (Fort Grey), with soft golden sand, beautiful clear sea and rockpools for exploring. Offers stunning views over Rocquaine Bay and Lihou island.
Location
L’Eree is located on the Route de La Rocque Poisson coast road, just past Rocquaine Bay and the Cup and Saucer (Fort Grey). There are 2 parking areas for L’Eree beach, the first has a kiosk in the parking area, the second is opposite the Taste of India Indian Restaurant and the fish and chip shop.
The Beach
This popular family beach offers a long stretch of soft golden sand, beautiful clear sea, rocks to climb and rockpools to explore. Access is easy with a slipway and steps dotted along the beach.
The beach offers panoramic views of Rocquaine, the Hanois Lighthouse and Lihou Island and is a great spot to watch the sunset.
Low Tide
You might think L’Eree would be the perfect beach to visit at low tide because of the vast amount of sand on show, however, it can have a seaweed problem! At low tide the smell from seaweed can be overpowering and if you have squeemish kids who don’t like seaweed underfoot then i’d give L’Eree a miss at low tide.
However, it’s not always covered in seaweed at low tide…
High Tide
A small amount of sand remains on L’Eree beach at high tide…
Facilities
There is a kiosk selling hot and cold drinks and ice creams in the parking area to the South of L’Eree beach. For more formal dining, there is a well rated Indian restaurant (Taste of India) behind the beach and a fish and chip shop that has inside dining, however, it is currently up for sale, hopefully it will be up and running again soon.
